One Thousand Seven Hundred & Seventy-Five STEPS Closer to the Love of My Life

You are now reading an entry from the proud owner of the rare Bright Eyes/Britt Daniels HOME IV EP #1755/2000. I ordered it only ummmm....EONS ago (in fact I pre-ordered it) and it never came. I was sad and depressed because rumours were floating around that it was sold out (it is!). They capped the pressing at 2000 copies. Post-Parlo Records never charged my credit card either so I was convinced I'd never get to hear it. But it was awaiting happily in my mail box on Friday. I was so happy that I skipped my way up to my apartment. As soon as I put it in my stereo I automatically fell in love with it. Each of the four songs are so addictive that I have to restrain myself from pressing the back button to hear the last song again. The song Southern State made me feel all sad and mopey for some reason...IT IS THAT GOOD. :( If anyone wants a copy, I can hook them up. This album deserves to be heard.

I was in such a good music mood this weekend that I purchased 6 more cds, only intending to buy 2 or 3. OH my. I have no idea when I'm going to find the time to listen to them. I got the new Spoon, the new Magnetic Fields, the new Amon Tobin (listening to it now!!), the new His Name is Alive, Interpol (meh), and the new Black Heart Procession. Cd shopping can be so addictive for me. Which is why I've restrained myself from only going every couple of weeks now.

I was suppose to go out Friday night but I drank a wee bit too much before departure time. I passed out and didn't wake up til 1am despite the fact that my phone was ringing many times (which was located a ENTIRE foot away from my head). I hate myself for missing what sounded like a wicked night.

On Saturday I went to Jason's house with Sarah. We watched several movies but not one in its full complete glory. We introduced Jason to Bright Eyes, Spoon and Magnetic Fields. He said he liked Bright Eyes the bestest! (Actually he said he liked Bright Eyes better than Magnetic Fields and didn't really comment on Spoon...but he stated this in a Bright-Eyes-is-obviously-a-far-superior-band type of voice).

I saw Punch Drunk Love on the weekend. I fully expected it to be this really deep intellectually stimulating movie and BOY was I mistaken. It wasn't horrible...but I left the movie theatre feeling empty. I don't think it went into some issues as well as it could have. This week I intend to see Bowling for Columbine. Tom was trying to convince us to sneak into it after Punch Drunk Love but that didn't fly well with some of the other attendees.
