Star, Glockenspiel, and Glockenspiel Star
On Tuesday we had a good bye party for Claire, who will not be returning to Ottawa for a solid TWO YEARS. She brought with her a pocket-atlas which surprisingly came in handy (ie. Jaffa is now called Tel Aviv). I have to get me one of those...along with a pocket dictionary (preferably scrabble edition 3), a pocket bible, a pocket book on astronomy, pocket Shakespeare, and a pair of pants with a bunch of pockets. Then I'll be set for NTN. I think her final day playing NTN was triumphant. Everyone's goal in life is to beat Ceege and that night Claire did it. (He wasn't there so he got zero). I will miss Claire (aka Super Star). Ottawa, is once again losing someone who likes to clap in public.
I think I need to become more cultured. So I've decided that I should learn how to play the glockenspiel. My first task will be to found out where I can purchase such an instrument. My second task will be to find out where I can take lessons. My third tasks will be to found out who needs a Glockenspielist in their band. Three tasks which will probably remain on my To Do list for the next year. . .or so. . . (until I lose the list). But at least I'm setting goals for myself and providing myself the opportunity to say the word glockenspiel a lot. When I meet new people I can be introduced as, "This is Laurie not only does she worship Conor Oberst's ass but she also plays the glockenspiel." Who won't want to be my friend? And then hopefully I'll be able to fill the gap that Claire has left.
Okay, a while ago I promised to have random spurts of downloadable music. I will end the randomness (and lazziness) now and begin weekly spurts of downloadable music. Today you may feast your ears on Rilo Kiley: Wires & Waves AND Science Vs. Romance. You can also download some more songs here. Then you can email me and tell me how much you love me. Actually, not until after you download the new Morrissey songs.
I have a crazy head.
